Dubstep extraordinaire Crankdat has curated a playlist for his upcoming show CONTROL beyond your wildest syncopated dreams: Crankdat x GMAD.
Crankdat, otherwise known as Christian Smith, has proven to us that he knows how to throw a filthy party. From his cleverly titled “re-cranks” to his on-stage demeanor, Crankdat has thrown gas on a budding flame. And the best part is, he’s only 19.
Before his show CONTROL at Avalon Hollywood this Friday, September 2nd, we wanted to share an exclusive curated playlist by Crankdat with our readers. If you’ve been scouring Soundcloud for some dirty dubstep, look no further. While Crankdat entices us with the feel-good “1Night” by Lil Yachty, he wastes no time in slamming us right into the dubstep bus (with the exception of the lovable 1985 version of “What Do You Mean”).
Take a listen to these next ten songs and catch Crankdat at CONTROL this weekend!
Tickets can be purchased here.
“This track is dope. Yachty is a legend of his time, and this song screams that through the streets. I don’t think I’ve heard a better song in the past year. Side note, this song is addicting if you sing it with a powerful Australian accent.”
“SayMyName had originally sent me this track as GYHU. Mercer hopped on it and they retitled it “Wanted.” I love the album art, and the song goes hard AF, so it’s a winner to me.”
“This is beautiful. Totally different from the original, obviously. I’m not the biggest fan of 80s music but this can almost singlehandedly change that.”
“So I don’t know any other tracks KStylis is on besides Booty Me Down, but this is RIDICULOUS. Not sure if it’s technically singing or rapping, but it works. Hard.”
“That bassline gets me…”
“I can say with full confidence that the bubbly synth rocks my world.”
“This is the type of song I want to play GTA to. Don’t ask why :)”
“If I had a dollar for every time Zomboy didn’t murder a track, I’d be in debt.”
“I’ve showered to this song every day for the past two weeks, the stranger-esque lead just steals my soul.”
“It’s like modern tech house, but what’s most interesting…IS THAT IT’S GOOD.”
