Draymond Green sat down with Draft Kings to discuss his beef with LeBron James and also he mentions his opinion on the MVP debate.
I lost a lot of respect for Draymond Green this past NBA season. He’s a hell of a player but he ran his mouth all year while all he had to do was pass the ball to MVP Steph Curry and Klay Thompson because they are automatic from 3. Also, multiple times he was seen kicking other players in the groin during a game and was suspended for it during game 5 of the NBA Finals. He even called LeBron James a “bitch” during the NBA Finals. However, Draft Kings interviewed Draymond Green about the reported beef between Green and LeBron.
In the interview Green shows respect towards James as he admits he’s a good player. He claims that on the court problems don’t always carry off the court as he says “on the court is on the court.” He admits that when he’s on the court he’s going to go after James and when James is on the court he’s going to go after him. He says, “It’s part of the game.” Green then goes on to discuss the MVP debate regarding what the term “valuable” actually means. He admits that he doesn’t know how many games the Cavs win without LeBron and how many games the Warriors win without Steph Curry. He further says that every MVP down the list had tremendous statistics the year that they won and that can’t be proven wrong.
I gained a little more respect for Green after watching this video. Admitting how talented your rival might be is not very easy. The fact that he can accept LeBron going at him and him going at LeBron during a game means that he has respect for the game. It means that he realizes what the game entails and that sometimes things are going to happen. I still have my doubts about Green and how he conducts himself on the court but this video does give me a different perspective of his character.
