This past Saturday night, Corsair Concerts brought Kid Ink to UMass Dartmouth. Their last attempt at a concert was Juicy J a few years ago, which didn’t live up to its full potential when Juicy J showed up 45 minutes late. But for the most part UMass Dartmouth has been hesitant to host concerts on campus. Until this past weekend when Kid Ink brought down the trip center in what was a successful night.
The Corsair Concerts Crew underwent lots of planning and coordination in order to get the concert together. Timothy Fournier, Vice President of Corsair Concerts said, “[It took] 2 years…. we ran into a lot of bumps along the road and after a lot of meetings with the school we were able to agree on something and then over the past year we’ve been working on this concert specifically. Finding artists/ volunteers/ marketing etc.” The show had about 15 planners, but well over 50 voluteers were needed the day of the show.
Overall it was a great show, with student openers Jay Kenny and A. C. Cool, the crowd loved them. Kid Ink put on a good show as well, ending it with signing some towels and throwing them into the audience. Turner Scott, president of Corsair Concerts, said, “It was a lot of work but it was worth it knowing that even a single student had a good time.” It’s safe to say everyone “Witnessed the Litness.”
