2.) Amazing cast
This show is filled with top actors and actresses who have truly embodied their characters. David Schwimmer, known for the role of “Ross” from the hit sitcom Friends, plays Robert Kardashian. John Travolta plays one of OJ Simpson’s defense attorneys and big personalities, Robert Shapiro. Sarah Paulson plays Marsha Clark, the main prosecutor on the case, who is well known for her amazing acting on American Horror Story and these are just a few of the many stars on the amazing cast list.
3.) Educate yourself
This series provides the perfect opportunity to learn about a historical case in a fun and easy way. Even though the trial took place around the time most of us were born (1994) it is still relevant today. Friends, teachers and businessmen alike refer to it because it is something that history will never forget.
4.) Make your own judgments
The producers have done a great job capturing both sides of the story. You will see all of the drama, emotions and actions that played out throughout the trial and be able to draw your own conclusions. From the dramatic bronco chase to the captivating trial to the most famous statement made by the defense, “If the glove doesn’t fit you must acquit,” It is all there. Was OJ Simpson guilty or did the jury come to the correct conclusions? It is up to you to decide.
5.) Watch with your friends
Make it a fun night with your friends by breaking out the popcorn and candy and having some fun! At the same time, it will be a great opportunity to bounce ideas off of each other and debate all of the evidence presented. You can even pretend you are on the jury and make your case for why or why not OJ Simpson should be let off.
6.) Best of both worlds
This show is a great mix between drama and “reality” television. You will get your fill of excitement and you will see the dynamic relationship the Kardashians had with Nicole and OJ Simpson. It is interesting to see how this case divided Kris and Robert Kardashian who each chose different sides and it is entertaining to watch young actresses, who look quite different from how we know the Kardashian’s today, play the roles of the Kardashian sisters.
7.) Relevant in the news today
Even though the OJ Simpson case happened many years ago, it has recently been in the news. A now retired police officer allegedly found a knife buried on Simpson’s estate back in 1997 but just decided to release it to the LAPD. If real evidence, it is unclear why he kept it for so long and the story has brought up a lot of questions. Is it legitimate evidence or is it just a publicity stunt to get more people interested in the show? Only time will tell but it seems like impeccable timing.
